Walking the Two Moors Way you follow the oldest
regional footpath in Devon, linking two beautiful National Parks
of Dartmoor and Exmoor.
The 100 miles (163 km), trail takes in miles of unspoilt and exceptional countryside;
soaring moorland landscapes and rugged moorland fringes, magnificent wooded valleys
and rich, rolling farmland.
Leading across the wilderness of southern Dartmoor, from Ivybridge to Holne,
the trail heads along parts of the inviting track known as Dr Blackall's Drive and the splendid ridgeback of Hameldon. Following on through Chagford, one of four original 'stannary' towns
in Devon where tin miners would flock to have the fruits of their labour weighed,
the Two Moors way leaves Dartmoor at Drewsteignton and soon moves on to mid-Devon,
where a more gentle, rolling landscape awaits.
Following ancient footpaths and bridleways past pretty towns and villages such
as Morchard Bishop, Black Dog and Witheridge in north Devon, the route enters
the Exmoor National Park over the open heather-clad expanses of Anstey Common.
It then snakes around beautiful river scenery and over tranquil moorland before
making a final spectacular descent down towards Lynmouth.
A rich variety of scenery and landscapes scattered with picturesque villages, ancient churches and historic monuments make this an enormously rewarding walk that, on the whole, involves little difficulty except for one or two more arduous sections.
We will plan your perfect walking holiday on the Two Moors Way, you simply choose when to go!
