Walk in spectacular scenery in Wales’s beautiful Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons National Park.

Described as the most romantic river valley in Wales, the beautiful Wye Valley (Area Of National Beauty), is a long limestone gorge carved out by the River Wye. It attracted the C18 Romantics, artists, painters and writers who came to experience the picturesque setting. Both Turner and Wordsworth came frequently to admire and capture its beauty in their work.

Autumn brings a unique and unmissable spectacle as the ancient woodlands, which line the steep-sided slopes, a mix of broad-leaf trees and conifers, change to a glorious canopy of reds, yellows and golds. These former Royal hunting grounds are now a haven for wildlife, with deer, badgers, birds, and varied species of trees. Visit the unforgettable setting of Tintern Abbey and walk up to the dramatic limestone cliffs, which line the Wye Valley, where you have outstanding views in every direction. Off the beaten track make surprising finds ~ vineyards, waterfalls and reminders of industrial heritage that stretches back to Roman times. Walk through rolling green countryside and patchwork fields to early Norman castles. Visit the famous little book town of Hay on Wye. Enjoy the beautiful contrasting dramatic landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Walk through long luscious green secluded valleys, visit Llanthony Priory, another subject of Turners work, which is an C11 Monastery in the stunning shelter of the Black mountains and take in sweeping panoramas with stunning views over the countryside walking along the Black mountains purple heathered moor lands.
